Am I correct that for each of the top two outside plugs, these are interchangeable with the side opening directly below it on the side of the unit? That is, you can connect the T on either the top, or the side, and the same with the P? And then my second question is what is the additional side plug for on the T side, on the side of the unit?

Yes, you are correct. You can connect T to the top or bottom port; the same goes for P. The additional port you referenced is the carry-over port, also known as the N port. Also, we will email you a schematic of this unit. Thank you.
