We have used the black rubber as well as the gray lamb nipples for caprine feeders. We use them on pop bottles for our baby goats. The gray ones are firmer and less well accepted by our baby goats. The black rubber nipples we have used have been softer than the gray ones and work well. Your caprine nipples appear to be like the softer black rubber ones that we prefer. If that is the case, please let me know so I can order some. Thanks, Jonathan Hoyt

The nipples we carry are gray and I would describe them as firm. They’re not as soft in feel or texture as the Milk Bar lamb nipples. Since you mentioned you’re feeding with pop bottles, if you want a truly soft lamb nipple, the Pitchard 105001 is the softest option we offer. It can also be trimmed at the tip to adjust the flow rate.
That said, the 92N is likely the best overall choice. It screws directly onto pop bottles, is black in color, and is noticeably softer than the CS‑120 without being as flimsy as the 105001.
Depending on the breed of lamb, dipping the nipple in slightly diluted Karo corn syrup can help encourage the lamb to accept a rubber nipple.
This technique is only practical in very small operations.
