What is a hydraulic cylinder?

A hydraulic cylinder is a mechanical device used to generate linear force and motion by using a

pressurized fluid, such as oil, which is contained within a closed system of tubing and

chambers. It consists of a piston and a cylinder which are used to convert the pressure of the hydraulic

fluid into a linear force and motion. This motion is then used to move objects and create mechanical

work.

Some of our most popular models are:

  • Cross tube cylinders
  • Clevis cylinders
  • Loader cylinders
  • Tie Rod cylinders
  • Tang cylinders

We offer a wide variety of bore sizes and lengths, so you are sure to find the exact replacement hydraulic cylinder that you need.  Are you looking for hydraulic power packs? No problem! We carry those as well. You can view our inventory of power packs HERE

Note: Please be sure to double check the size, stroke length, diameter, and mounting configuration before ordering in order to ensure that you are choosing the correct replacement for your worn out hydraulic cylinder(s)!

                                          Hydraulic Cylinder FAQ

Q: What types of hydraulic cylinders do you sell?

A: We sell a wide variety of replacement and OEM hydraulic cylinders. Here is a complete list of the types that we sell: Cross Tube, Clevis End, Dump Trailer, Pin Eye, Tang, Loader, Log Splitter, Telescopic, Swivel Eye, Tie Rod, and Rephasing cylinders. These are high-quality cylinders that can be used as aftermarket replacement cylinders, or they can be used by OEM’s when manufacturing new equipment or machinery.

Q: Do hydraulic cylinders come with hydraulic fluid inside?

A: No. All of our cylinders are shipped “dry”. Once you receive your cylinder(s), it is your responsibility to fill the cylinder(s) with the appropriate hydraulic fluid for your application.

Q: How are the hydraulic cylinders shipped?

A: Most of our hydraulic cylinder orders ship via FedEx Ground. For orders that weigh more than 150lbs in total, we may have to ship your order via freight truck. Orders are normally shipped out within 1 business day, and transit time varies between 1-5 business days in most situations. We will email you tracking information once your order ships.

Q: How much does shipping cost?

A: Standard Fedex Ground shipping is FREE on all hydraulic cylinder orders!

Q: Do you offer discounts on larger orders?

A: Yes! If you are ordering 4 or more cylinders at once, we can usually offer you a discount. Please contact us for details.

Q: How do I measure to make sure I order the correct hydraulic cylinder?

A: Please be sure to read the item descriptions carefully. We have the necessary data points listed for each cylinder. The most important measurements to consider are bore size, stroke length, extended and retracted length, port size, and pin diameter. Other important factors to consider are the column load rating and PSI rating. Finally, be sure to check what type of mounts you will need. Examples of common mounts include clevis, pin eye, trunnion, and cross tube.

Q: What is your return policy for cylinders?

A: Cylinders may be returned within 15 days of receiving them AND only if they are in unused, original condition in their original packaging. Cylinders that show signs of use or that have been filled with fluid are NOT returnable. Please be sure to take all of your measurements very carefully before ordering! This saves you and us a lot of time and money! If you would like to return your order, please contact us to obtain an RMA and the proper return shipping address, and we will be happy to help. Please be advised that the customer is responsible for the shipping costs for the return. Also, some of our manufacturers charge a restocking fee of up to 20%, which we will have to pass along to you. Again, please double check all measurements and specs BEFORE ordering your cylinder(s)! Thank you for your understanding!
